Economical to build and to maintain [was the goal of this design...] while not compromising the essential human needs for enjoyment of ones environment and pride of ownership. Beginning with a perfectly square building envelope (36' x 36'), the maximum interior space is created in trade for a minimum perimeter thus saving potentially thousands in construction expense. It doesn't take an elongated building shape to maximize the percentage of south facing glass [and co-locate primary living spaces] for passive solar heat gain and minimize the percentage of West and East facing glass as this design illustrates and verifies.
